      Fromthe picture, we can see that a man is walking under the sun. Before him is ashadow and behind him is the sun. As is noted on the right side of the drawing,where there’s shadow ahead,there’s sunshine behind. Obviously, the shadowstands for the difficulties in life while the sunshine represents hopes lyingbehind. Thus, we may conclude that when faced with difficulties, we shouldalways be optimistic.

The significance of optimism lies in thefollowing aspects. First and foremost,，lifeis full of setbacks and failures. Every time we are in adversity,we need tomaintain an optimistic mentality to pull through pain and sorrow, twists andturns. Othervise, we’ll be defeated by the adversity. Secondly, optimismcontributes to our health,wealth and success. A case in point is that up totoday, countless studies have shown that optimistic feelings reduce the risksof many diseases, adding to the fact that health is the precondition of wealthand success.

To sum up, I believe that optimism is a goodchoice when we are confronted with unexpected hardships and sufferings.Therefore, next time when we meet bends and curves in life, we should be moreoptimistic and try to see the bright side of the situation and draw lessonsfrom the bumps and turns along the way.
